Rawhide Reels For Shield Edging

Rawhide Reels made from deer skin, Sold in Various lengths for Viking Reenactment Shields.

Use our rawhide reels for your shield edging. To use then place the rawhide in a bucket of water and wait until it it soft enough to work with. Stretch the rawhide around your shield edge and leave to dry, ensuring you have equal overlap at both sides. Once dry then you can drill holes and attach with our rivets, or use thick leather thong if you want it stitched.

- All reels are approximately 45mm (1.75 inch) wide and 1mm thick.
- Prices are per roll.
- To work out how much you need then it will be 3.141 x shield diameter.
- Common shield sizes are 28, 30 & 32 inch (71, 76 & 81cm), so rawhide required for your shield, to allow for a bit of overlap:
- 28 inch (71cm) shield = 230cm.
- 30 inch (76cm) shield = 245cm.
- 32 inch (81cm) shield = 260cm.

- To use then soak in cold water until it is wet and pliable.
- Once soaked and ready to use then mould the rawhide along your shield edge.
- Once dried on your shield edge then make the holes you require to rivet the rawhide on.

All of our shipping costs are based on the weight and the size of your package and are calculated on the final checkout page.

All UK packages are now sent via 1st Class Royal Mail - Signed For / EVRI as standard, or Royal Mail 'Special Delivery' if you have specified this on the checkout page.

Any items going overseas are sent via 'International Tracked', or you can upgrade to 'Express Courier'.

Postage costs start at 2.95 GBP for UK small tracked packages, or FREE if your order is over £100!

How long do we take to deliver?

If you order before 1pm (GMT) then your package will usually be sent out the same day via Royal Mail, unless it is a large package, which will sent via courier that pick up from us the next working day.

Average delivery times:

- UK - 1-3 working days (1-2 working days via Special Delivery).
- Europe (EU) - 5-15 working days.
- Europe (Non EU) - 5-15 working days.
- USA & Canada - 5-10 working days (sometimes longer if you have a rural location).
- Australia & New Zealand - 5-10 working days (sometimes longer if you have a rural location).
- Rest of the World - 5-35 working days.
- EXPRESS COURIER ORDERS CAN BE DELIVERED ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD BETWEEN 2-5 DAYS, SO IF YOU UPGRADE YOUR SERVICE YOU WILL GET YOUR ITEMS QUICKER.

All EU deliveries will be subject to your local tax laws on imports, so please be aware that you will need to pay import taxes to receive your product.
