Introducing a handcrafted replica of an early medieval flute / muse, inspired by an important archaeological find from York, England. This exquisite instrument is modelled after a wooden wind instrument discovered during excavations at Hungate, once inhabited by Anglo-Danes. Crafted with precision and historical accuracy, this replica features a single idioglotal reed made from natural cane, a slightly flared conical bell, five finger holes arranged per archaeological reconstruction, and an archaic, modal, non-tempered scale typical of early medieval music. The raw, warm, and historically evocative sound of this instrument makes it ideal for early music and medieval performances, Viking Age reenactments, experimental music, and educational settings. - Handmade in Northern Europe from sycamore wood. The mouth piece has been made separately, also from Sycamore.
 - Length 26.5cm (10.5 inch), body diameter approx. 2.5cm (1 inch).
- The mouthpiece has an idioglot single reed made from natural cane in it making it very easy to play.

All of our shipping costs are based on the weight and the size of your package and are calculated on the final checkout page.

All UK packages are now sent via Royal Mail Tracked 48 as standard, or Royal Mail 'Special Delivery' if you have specified this on the checkout page.

Most items going overseas are sent via 'International Tracked', or you can upgrade to 'Express Courier'. USA packages are currently being sent by UPS only and price includes all taxes & fees.

Postage costs start at 2.95 GBP for UK small tracked packages, or FREE if your order is over £150!

How long do we take to deliver?

If you order before 1pm (GMT) then your package will usually be sent out the same day via Royal Mail, unless it is a large package, which will sent via courier that pick up from us the next working day.
