Wax writing tablets have been used as early as 8th Century BC and as late as the mid 19th Century. They have been found throughout the Viking age and early Medieval times and are very easy to use. Once drawn on, the wax can then be heated gently and then just rubbed by the back of the stylus to erase the wax screen.
