Game of Thrones Horn Beer Mugs - Viking Feasting Supplies

Our 'Game of Thrones' horn mugs continue a tradition in the use of horns for feasting that dates back at least to the Viking Age when celebrations and fellowship around beer and mead were commonplace. These amazing mugs are reminiscent of the iconic warrior, craftsman or nobleman, or today's proud re-enactor.

The horn mugs are uniquely made in a traditional manner by steaming, shaping, and bending over the handles to make this stylish creation. This creative innovation for horn mugs stems back to the 18th century, where our mugs are handmade in a traditional horn factory in England. The Viking Dragon proudly continues the tradition by offering these classic horn mugs that impressed the producers of shows like 'Game of Thrones', 'Vikings', and other semi-historical films to use them on set. In fact The Viking Dragon supplied 600 of these horn mugs to the production company of 'Game of Thrones'. The Viking Dragon continues to supply these original horn mugs that are the same ones supplied to Game of Thrones for their feasting gear in the series.

For those unfamiliar with the popular series, "Game of Thrones" is a spectacular edge-of-your-seat television series about a fantastical world of 7 realms set in a drama unfolding in historical Medieval settings adapted from 'A Song of Ice and Fire' by George R. Martin's series of fantasy novels of which the initial book was called 'A Game of Thrones'. It was brought to American television by David Benioff and D.B. Weiss being filmed in Belfast, Northern Ireland, Ireland, Canada, Croatia, Iceland, Malta, Morocco, Scotland, Spain, and The United States running on the HBO premier channel since 2011.

The series has finished its seventh season with more in the works focusing on the fictional continents of Westeros and Essos exploring three distinct stories involving conflicts and alliances of noble families trying to claim the throne or break independently from rulers. The Northern realm with the infamous phrase 'Winter is coming' stuns the audience with an eternal brotherhood that exists to defend the realm from legendary monsters, creatures, and fierce warriors from the far north riding on the tails of a devastating winter.

The fame of these awe-inspiring drinking mugs just doesn't end with Game of Thrones. They can be seen in other Viking movies and series, most notably 'Vikings' seen on the History Channel, following the epic adventures of Ragnar and the conquests in Viking history.

For re-enactors, these horn mugs are an indication of Viking influenced warriors feasting amongst their comrades and adversaries. Very popular at Renaissance and Medieval fairs, Medieval Markets, and the Society for Creative Anachronism.

The Viking Dragon (formerly known as The Jelling Dragon) is the longest running and the first worldwide supplier of Viking gear and is one of the best places to obtain these treasures.
