Handmade Replica Viking Age Pipe Flute from Falster in Denmark.
The Falster pipe, also called a bone pipe / bone flute was found at an archaeological dig in Denmark. It is called a Falster pipe as it was found near a shipyard at Fribrødre river on Falster, Denmark. It is a woodwind instrument that dates from the latter half of the 11th century.
- Handmade in Northern Europe from sycamore wood and a cow horn end. The mouth piece has been made separately, also from Sycamore.
- Length 40 - 42cm (16 - 17 inch), body diameter approx. 2.5cm (1 inch).
- The mouthpiece has a wooden reed in it making it very easy to play.
