Believed to be one of the oldest religious symbols, the sun cross, or sun wheel / solar wheel has appeared in many religions and societies since neolithic times. The sun cross can be associated with Odin, Thor or Frey in Norse religion. 

The sun wheel is believed to represent the cycle of life and death in the form of fire and strength.

The design is taken from a picture stone situated in the church of Bro in Gotland
